Dubai Property b News: French architecture firms are in Riyadh, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi from October 31 to November 4 to meet with major public and private contractors. Organised by Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, in partnership with AFEX (French Overseas Architect), that plays the key role in promoting the savoir-faire of French architects abroad, this tailor-made program aims to highlight innovations from France among the region’s specifiers.

In line with France’s environmental ambitions, Emirati developers look for a valuable expertise that focuses on sustainability and innovation for their numerous projects. Moreover, French expertise in architecture and urban planning is recognised by the Saudis, who are currently seeking partnerships with international companies.

This five-day business expedition is marked by collective meetings with major Saudi contractors such as the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Ministry of Culture. The 12 companies will also have business meetings with the major real estate developers in Dubai & Abu Dhabi such as Diamond Developer, Majid Al Futtaim, Aldar Properties and Imkan.

“The French approach to the Sustainable & Desirable City” conference is organised on November 3, as part of the economic program of France pavilion at Expo 2020, the 12 participants of this business program, can seize a unique opportunity to speak at the conference, whereas all of them are expected to attend roundtables on Expo 2020 Dubai, UAE, focused on:

  • “Structuring elements of the city”,
  • “The challenges of tourism”,
  • And “The reversible city”.
    “This 5-day immersive programme conveys the unique vision of 12 Architecture Agencies, that combine strong and ambitious aesthetic with a virtuous, dynamic, and eco-friendly design. This mission was designed to present France’s next generation of architects in the framework of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” urban development plan and its giga-projects as well as the “Dubai Urban Masterplan Plan 2040” stated Foued KEFIF – Head of Industry & Cleantech department, at Business France Middle East.

The contribution of the French architects and engineers to expanding cities and modernising the architecture in the Middle East, over the centuries, bear testimony to the exchanges and numerous technical and artistic collaborations between France and the Middle East. As a result of its ancestral history and its rich architectural heritage, France emerged as a leader in heritage conservation and rehabilitation.
